Heavy chewers may enjoy a good chew toy while youre gone, but there is a small chance of choking. Puppies and older dogs are more prone to this, but all dogs run a risk of choking.

Toys are important to dogs because its a way for them to address their natural instinct to chew. ;Toys also help them entertain themselves while you are busy or to have fun playing with you.
Generally, once you find good toys that arent easily destroyed, you dont need to keep buying them new ones. ;However, surprising them with a new toy is always worth it when you see how excited they get.
Obviously, this doesnt need to happen every day, but when their old toys start to get worn out or when theres a special occasion, maybe show up with a new toy.

German Shepherd Whine When They Cannot See You
German Shepherds have very strong guarding and herding instincts; this is why they are the official guard, guide, search and rescue, and military dog. While at home, German Shepherds are very territorial.
It will follow its owner around the house and when it is locked in a room, the German Shepherd whines until it is opened for.
This is because it has an overwhelming urge to protect its owners. Hence, another reason your German Shepherd whines is when they cannot see you.;
