All Puppies Come With Full Hip Elbow And Temperament Guarantees
We registered our first litter in 1979 which produced quality working dogs capable of attaining the highest level of working competitions. In that litter was produced Alf vom Haus Schair SchH III. Alf was not only a Schutzhund dog but also a certified Search and Rescue dog owned by John Koerner. The attributes, character and trainability he possessed are still what we strive for today.
We pride ourselves on producing the best available working line German Shepherds. From one of our last litters two males by two years of age have already accomplished advanced titles with Izak vom Haus Schair achieving a V rating for structure in his German Breed Survey and the titles of BH, AD and IPO I and soon to compete in the IPO II-III. From the same litter Ike vom Haus Schair has completed his BH and will be competing in the next few months in Germany for his IPO I-IPO III with Rienk Heersma and Isabel Schmidt. Other pups from the litter are currently in training or active being loved family members.

Welcome to the home of the GSD of Atlanta club! We invite you to join us in exploring one of the world’s most versatile breed from a beloved family member to a working dog or even a competitive sport dog. You can learn so much of the fundamentals of this great breed with us!Our club members have vast knowledge and backgrounds in venues like the American Kennel Club , United Kennel Club , International All Breed Canine Association and Schutzhund/IGP. We welcome all who share our passion in this great breed and all who love purposeful pure-bred dogs alike.
We have monthly meetings where our members come together to plan future events and talk about brag on our beloved dog achievements. We are truly fortunate to be in an area where multiple kennel clubs alike are active, hosting many accessible events. Plus, it is not surprising to find our members or acquaintances to travel beyond our radius to nearby states like Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, or Alabama due to our proximity.
Overall, our goal is to advocate for this great breed by cherishing their ability and skill, while striving to preserve the German Shepherd dog breed.

Origins Of The German Shepherd Breed
In Europe during the 1800s, attempts were being made to standardize breeds. The dogs were bred to preserve traits that assisted in their job of herding sheep and protecting flocks from predators. In Germany this was practiced within local communities, where shepherds selected and bred dogs that they believed had traits necessary for herding sheep, such as intelligence, speed, strength, and keen senses of smell. The results were dogs that were able to perform admirably in their task, but that differed significantly, both in appearance and ability, from one locality to another.
Max von Stephanitz, an ex-cavalry captain and former student of the Berlin Veterinary College believed strongly that dogs should be bred for working.
In 1899, Von Stephanitz was attending a dog show when he was shown a dog named Hektor Linksrhein. Hektor was the product of few generations of selective breeding and completely fulfilled what Von Stephanitz believed a working dog should be. He was pleased with the strength of the dog and was so taken by the animals intelligence and loyalty, that he purchased it immediately. This was declared to be the first German Shepherd Dog and was the first dog added to the societys breed register.
Because of Von Stephanitzs strong, uncompromising leadership he is credited with being the creator of the German Shepherd Dog.
