According to the USDAs Food Safety and Inspection Service , bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 and 140 °F, the Danger Zone.

Thawing in water is not recommended. If the container or bag has holes, the nutrients will leach into the surrounding water. Lastly, do not microwave raw food for pet consumption as this will begin cooking the food.
