Florida German Shepherd Puppies Are Health Checked And Registered
All puppies come with AKC registration and a Florida health Certificate, that includes vaccinations from my veterinarian, wormed with proper medications, checked clear and free from worms, given first flea and heartworm treatment and Microchiped. They will also come with a leash and collar if needed at pick up and a toy with moms and litter mates scent for comfort in their new home
White German Shepherd Genetics
Our understanding of the genes which control canine coat color is increasing all the time. But even as we unravel the unique DNA of other famously white dogs , the white German Shepherd remains stubbornly mysterious.
There was a time when all white German Shepherds were thought of as albinos. Whilst the gene for albinism does exist in the GSD population, the majority of white German Shepherds dont carry it. Nor do they carry the extreme white piebald gene which gives Dalmatians their white base.
At the time of writing, in 2019, the most widely accepted theory is that German Shepherds all have one spot in their genetic code which acts like a switch for white and non-white.
If a puppy inherits the non-white gene in this location from either mom or dad, then theyll be one of the other possible German Shepherd colors, depending on the other genes they have.
But if they inherit the white gene for from both mom and dad, then all else in their genetic code is forgotten, and they are white. Because they need to inherit the white gene from both parents, it is described as a recessive trait.
