It was during 1850s that breeding of dogs were standardized in Germany. The main purpose was to produce dogs in assisting the shepherds in protecting their flock from predators. How did the German Shepherd Lines evolved?
The discovery of Horands ability and genes became the core of the breeding system of working line GSD. Stephanitz continuously worked on the inbreeding procedures using Horands bloodline. The results were successful when out of Horand came Schwaben and Beowulf which became the origin of the present German Shepherd work lines.In 1907, German Shepherd Dog became more popular in America when its first exposure happened there. It was in America, where GSD shows became more famous because of this new breed.

How Much Training And What Kind Of Training Do You Recommend For A Cedar Valley Canine Puppy
We begin training at 7 – 8 weeks of age. The busy puppy translates into a young dog that is suitable for a wide variety of activities and it is important to direct the natural energy and curiosities of the dog into practical training and living scenarios. We also advise crate training for our dogs. Dogs have an inherent desire for a den or shelter and a crate allows them that space and also aids in the housebreaking as they have a natural instinct to keep their living and sleeping area clean.
History Of Kraftwerk K9
Established in 1987, founder Wayne Curry, grew Kraftwerk K9 from his love of training dogs. Due to his home being burglarized in 1986, Wayne decided to train dogs in tracking, obedience, and protection. His untrained Staffordshire Bullterrier was unable to protect his home and he then decided to obtain a Rottweiler for protection. After a year of training with national judges from Vancouver BC, Wayne took an untrained Rottweiler that he bought for 250 dollars and molded him into an award winning SchIII certified prized dog from the Pacific Northwest German Shepherd Working Dog Club. Wayne continued to train Rottweilers up until the early 90s where he purchased his first German Shepherd.

Dr. Robert Oglesby and Janette Oglesby have been involved with German Shepherd Dogs, puppy care, and training for many years. In her previous life Janette was a veterinary practice manager, veterinary technician, and kennel manager. During the past 15 years she has been evaluating, working, training, titling, and breeding these fabulous dogs. She is a member of DVG and is involved with several working dog clubs and groups.
